This Privacy Policy describes how StockPing ("we", "us", or "our") collects, uses, and shares information when you install and use the StockPing app on your Shopify store.

1. Who We Are

StockPing is a Shopify app that monitors your store's inventory levels and sends real-time alerts when stock drops below your configured thresholds. We are operated by SellEazyy.

2. What Information We Collect

From your Shopify store (via Shopify API):

  • Your store domain (e.g., yourstore.myshopify.com)
  • OAuth access token (used to authenticate API requests on your behalf)
  • Product and variant data: product titles, variant titles, SKUs, vendor, product type, tags, and inventory item IDs
  • Inventory levels: stock quantities per variant per location
  • Store location names and IDs

From you directly:

  • Email addresses (if you enable email alerts)
  • Slack webhook URL (if you enable Slack alerts)
  • App configuration settings: alert thresholds, cooldown periods, notification preferences

Automatically generated:

  • Alert history: records of when alerts were triggered, which products, quantities, and channels used
  • Billing plan and subscription status

What we do NOT collect:

  • Your customers' personal information
  • Customer orders or purchase history
  • Payment card data
  • Any Shopify data beyond your products, stock levels, and warehouse locations

3. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

  • Monitor your inventory levels and detect when stock drops below your thresholds
  • Send you alerts via email, Slack, or push notifications as configured
  • Display your alert history, incidents, and inventory data within the app
  • Process billing and manage your subscription via Shopify's billing system
  • Respond to support requests
  • Comply with legal obligations

4. How We Share Your Information

We do not sell your personal information. We share data only with the third-party service providers required to operate the app:

Slack (alert notifications)

When you enable Slack alerts, we send alert messages to the Slack webhook URL you provide. No additional data is shared with Slack beyond the alert content you configured.

Shopify

Your store data is accessed via the Shopify Admin API under the OAuth scopes you approved during installation. Shopify's privacy policy governs the data you share with Shopify directly.

We may also disclose information if required by law or to protect our legal rights.

5. Data Retention

We retain your data for as long as your store has the app installed. When you uninstall StockPing, we mark your account as uninstalled. You may request full deletion of your store's data at any time by contacting us at [email protected].

We also respond to Shopify's mandatory GDPR webhooks:

  • customers/data_request — We will provide any customer data we hold upon request (note: we do not collect customer PII, so responses will typically confirm no data is held).
  • customers/redact — We will delete any customer data associated with a redaction request.
  • shop/redact — We will permanently delete all data associated with your store within 30 days of receiving this webhook.

6. Your Rights

Depending on your location, you may have the following rights regarding your personal data:

  • Access: Request a copy of the data we hold about your store.
  • Correction: Request that we correct inaccurate data.
  • Deletion: Request that we delete your data.
  • Portability: Request your data in a portable format.
  • Objection: Object to how we process your data.

For EU/UK merchants (GDPR): We process your data on the legal basis of contract performance (to provide the app service you installed) and legitimate interests (to maintain security and improve the service).

For California merchants (CCPA): We do not sell personal information. You have the right to know what data we collect and to request deletion.

7. Data Security

We store all data on secured servers with access controls and encryption in transit (HTTPS/TLS). OAuth access tokens are stored encrypted. We do not log or expose Shopify access tokens beyond what is required for API authentication.

8. Cookies

StockPing is an embedded Shopify admin app. We do not use cookies on your storefront. The app may use session tokens within the Shopify admin context, managed by Shopify's App Bridge framework.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post the updated policy at this URL with a revised "Last updated" date. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
